· Finally peel and finely slice the garlic cloves.
Step 2: Cooking
· Heat 3 tablespoons of olive oil in a large casserole pan over a medium heat, add the chopped carrots. Stir and leave to cook until the carrots have softened a bit.
· Add the sliced onions and the garlic. Stir a bit.
· Add the smoked ham bits. Stir a bit.
· Add the Brussels sprouts. Stir a bit.
· Finally, add the water, salt and pepper. Stir a bit.
· Cover and let it simmer on a medium heat. Stir occasionally. Once the vegetables have softened to your liking, it’s ready.

1kg Brussels sprouts
2 carrots
300g smoked ham bits
1 medium onion
2 garlic cloves

10cl water

· Peel and thinly slice the onions
